Hola!

I'm originally from Colombia, and currently work as an associate professor in Psychology at the University of Stavanger, Norway. I am an author, educator, psychotherapist and passionate mental health advocate, regularly sought out to participate in radio programmes, TV and newspaper articles; especially after my participation in “Forsker Grand Prix” a television broadcast contest for researchers in 2016.  I have published several articles and book chapters about silence, therapeutic writing, qualitative methods, grief, human suffering, as well as community interventions to promote mental health and wellbeing.

Some of my core publications have been Acompañar la finitud (San Pablo, 2013), Poetry and Imagined Worlds (Palgrave, 2017), Deep Experiencing: Dialogues Within the Self (Springer, 2017) and A Poetic Language of Ageing (Bloomsbury, 2023).  My new book The Craft of Silence, will be published soon as well.
